Footprints of Jesus: His Trial and Denial |
- With Easter only weeks away, I want to begin tracing the footsteps of Jesus as He journeys to the cross. The details of
His journey are recorded in John 18-19. The section we will study this Sunday brings us to Jesus’ arrest in the garden of
Gethsemane. Who arrested whom? The ministry in the upper room was over. Jesus’ intercessory prayer had ended. Jesus and His
disciples headed for the garden and Jesus is moving toward the cross. The imminent events are of
ultimate importance because none of the things Jesus promised during His ministry would be possible without His
journey to the cross. Things like: the
promise of eternal life, the sending of the Holy Spirit as a Comforter, the
preparation of a place for us, the treasures of His grace and wisdom…all are
dependent on His death and resurrection. I hope you will join the journey as
we trace the Footprints of Jesus.
- This Sunday
we examine the mock trials of Jesus before Annas and Caiaphas. While we
may not go through a trial like Jesus, we all face trials of many kinds in our
lives. What can we learn from Christ’s example? Also, Peter denied Jesus while
he was going through these trials. What led to Peter’s denial? Listen
to Footprints of Jesus: His Trial and Denial or visit the Relating to His Word page
to get the sermon notes or hear any other sermons.

more info on small groups or starting a small group, contact Pastor

THEODYSSEY check out the website at www.theodyssey.org
or contact Craig at csanborn@asbuilts.com or Ivette at
isanborn@hotmail.com.
- THEODYSSEY
is a made up word (aren't they all?) derived from the combination of theos, for God, and odyssey, a
wandering and eventful journey. Our mission is to guide you on your own wandering, eventful journey
with God, through the process of spiritual formation, which we define as being conformed to the image
of Jesus for the sake of others. This is an 8-month intensive group, where it is safe to ask tough
questions, and fertile ground on which to grow spiritually. Your field guides will be the Bible and
our unique curriculum, based on ten intimate "conversations" developed for the next generation of
Believers. The questions are probing. No fluff. No sugar coating.

Simple Motherhood Ministry:
|
- Evergreen Valley Church has a new ministry, Simple Motherhood. (Expecting mothers and mothers with children of all ages are included!).
We are meeting this winter, on one Tuesday morning each month.
February 23rd, 2010 - 9:30 - 11:30
- The Simple Motherhood monthly meetings are not a bible study, but a place to come and hear biblical
truths from Anne Catrett's life and motherhood experience. She will be sharing more about her life
journey and from the Captivating book over the next several months. But, mostly this is a place for
moms to gather, relax, meet one another, take a break from the never ending "to do list," receive, be
encouraged, be redirected to God (because we're so easily distracted!), and share about our
motherhood journey together.
Also, this is a group for women in various seasons of motherhood, not just in the babyhood/toddler years.
Please contact Anne, annecatrett@hotmaila.com, or Kristi,
kristi@hewitt.net, to get on our mailing list or
if you have further questions.
